3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape SF6808, Gray, 0.8 mm is manufactured using a special process to provide superior adhesion performance and high flexibility. It is specially designed for the attachment of rubber seal parts, especially automobile weatherstrips, delivering reliable bonding to EPDM rubber and similar substrates.
As part of the 3M Acrylic Foam Tape SF Series, this tape features a heat-activated adhesive on one side for strong bonding to weatherstrip seals, and a pressure sensitive adhesive on the opposite side for secure attachment to automotive painted surfaces. The heat-activated adhesive performs effectively on EPDM rubber and similar materials without requiring a solvent-type adhesion promoter.
The tape is equipped with an orange, anti-pop off polyethylene liner that allows easy one-piece release, enabling efficient and smooth tape application.
Heat Activated Bonding Performance
High-performance heat-activated acrylic foam tapes from 3M provide an excellent solution for bonding elastomeric and rubber profiles. The heated lamination process creates a homogeneous bond along the entire surface of the seal or trim, effectively preventing the intrusion of dust, moisture, noise and other external elements.
